License

The Project Entangle ATSC 3.0 Base Stack is offered under a dual license. It is distributed as free software under the terms of the GNU Affero General Public License. It is also available under a commercial license for those who do not wish to be bound by the terms of the GNU Affero General Public License. Please contact info@koherence.com if you wish to acquire a commercial license.

Open Source Components

The Base Stack makes use of open source components such as libxml2. These components carry their own licenses. You should review the licenses for open source components to ensure they are compatible with your usage.

The list of open source components used in each release as well as download links are provided on the Releases page.

Open source components may have been modified for use with the Base Stack. Unless otherwise noted at the top of the modified source file, those changes are made available under the same terms as the open source component.

Third-Party Components

Certain functions of the Base Stack require third party components – particularly software for interacting with certain hardware devices such as the Airwavz RedZone Receiver tuner/demodulators. Use of these components is optional – switches are available in the top-level Makefile to disable these third-party components and the relevant functions of the Base Stack which depend on them.

Third-party components carry their own licenses. You should review the licenses for third-party components you elect to include in your project to ensure they are compatible with your usage.

If you wish to use these third-party components you must obtain them from their owners (they are typically made available when you purchase the hardware they support). Instructions for incorporating the source or object files are provided on the Building page.

The list of third-party components associated with each release are provided on the Releases page.
