Welcome to In Koherence – the less serious and sometimes entertaining side of Koherence, LLC where we explore the impossible and embark on the improbable! In case you didn’t arrive here via Koherence, it’s a consulting company providing engineering and management services in the consumer electronics space. If you have a great idea for a new consumer electronics product, find yourself staring at poorly-encoded video, need some help designing a live transcoding server, or are just out of chocolate, head over to koherence.com and see if we can help.
In Koherence is home to a number of Koherence’s projects and technologies ranging from MPEG-2 encoding analyzers to live HLS transcoding pipelines and broadcast monitoring services, some of which we’re pleased to make available to the public.
Project Entangle is a media platform that serves as a proving ground for advanced media recording, playback, and analysis technologies. Like antenna diversity in OTA TV reception and trick modes over HLS. And M&M’s commercial detection (i.e. “high-value content identification”). Project Entangle is also the home for Koherence’s ATSC 3.0 (aka NextGen TV) efforts. We’re pleased to make the Project Entangle ATSC 3.0 Base Stack available as open source software and hope it’ll inspire others to develop NextGen TV products and services.
The SFBayATSC broadcast monitoring system provides the SF Bay Area OTA enthusiast and broadcaster communities with real-time monitoring and analysis of ATSC 1.0 and ATSC 3.0 emissions.
